Nov. 25, 2013 – The Mega Millions jackpot sits at an estimated $205 million ahead of Tuesday night’s drawing, the first time in 2013 that it has passed the $200 million mark.
The numbers drawn Friday night were 17, 23, 35, 36, 44 and the Mega Ball was 8. Friday’s Megaplier, which multiplies the value of non-jackpot prizes by the number drawn, was 3x.
While nobody was able to match all six numbers drawn, two lucky Mega Millions tickets were sold matching all five white balls drawn.
One of those tickets, sold in North Carolina, also included the Megaplier option, which costs an extra $1. Because Friday’s Megaplier was 3x, the lucky North Carolinian who chose to put an extra dollar down is now $3 million richer.
Though the other ticket matching five of six numbers did not include the Megaplier option, it is still worth $1 million, making a Mega Millions player in New York a new millionaire.
An impressive 45 players were able to match 4 white ball numbers and the Mega Ball Friday night to win third prizes. Three of those players also added Megaplier, multiplying their $5,000 wins to $15,000.
Overall, 2,211,669 winners raked in more than $8.8 million in prize money on Friday’s drawing.
Tuesday’s drawing will be held at 11 p.m. ET. The estimated $205 million jackpot carries a huge cash value of $110 million, and with the prize value so high, it’s certain that more people will be taking a $1 chance on the game, so don’t forget to grab your ticket before sales close Tuesday.
