Mega Millions Jackpot Now Over $300 Million

March 9, 2014 – Nobody won the $270 million Mega Millions jackpot Friday night, so the prize which had already been attracting national attention is now worth an estimated $309 million.

The winning numbers drawn Friday were 11, 13, 51, 57, 69 and the Mega Ball was 1.  Friday night’s Megaplier was 4x, so winning tickets with the Megaplier option added will be worth four times their normal value.

Three lucky players matched all five white numbers drawn Friday night to win Mega Millions’ $1 million second prize.  Those three new millionaires are from Massachusetts, New York and Texas.

Fifty-one players won one of Mega Millions’ third prizes Friday night, including four players who chose to add the Megaplier option to their tickets.  Those four players will receive $20,000 third prizes, while the other 47 third-prize winners will receive the game’s normal $5,000 prize.

More than 3.1 million Mega Millions players won one of the game’s nine prizes Friday night, raking in more than $9.8 million in non-jackpot prizes.

About 276,000 of the total winners chose to add Megaplier to their tickets; Megaplier winnings accounted for more than $1.9 million of the total prizes paid out Friday.

Tuesday’s drawing for the estimated $309 million jackpot will be held at about 11 p.m. EDT, and the jackpot prize carries a cash value of about $169 million.
