Mega Millions Jackpot Keeps Growing

Jan. 26, 2014 – Nobody was able to match all six winning numbers in Friday’s Mega Millions drawing, so the jackpot prize grew again, reaching an estimated $71 million ahead of Tuesday night’s drawing and nearing the $100 million mark.

Friday’s winning numbers were 22, 45, 46, 47, 65 and the Mega Ball was 10.  The Megaplier drawn Friday was 5x, so players who added the Megaplier option to their tickets will see five times the normal prize amount for anything they’ve won.

No tickets were sold for Friday’s drawing that matched the first five numbers drawn, so no $1 million second-prizes will be awarded.

Though nobody matched all five white numbers, 21 players matched four of them and the Mega Ball to win Mega Millions’ third prize, worth $5,000.

One of those players also added the Megaplier option to their ticket, so their $5,000 third prize multiplies to $25,000 thanks to that extra dollar bill.

Overall about 1.25 million tickets matched a winning combination of the Mega Millions numbers drawn Friday night.  All of those winners will take home more than $3 million in prize money.

Tuesday night’s drawing will be held at 11 p.m. EST, and sales ahead of the drawing will close shortly before that.  Check this state-by-state list of sales cutoff times to be sure you don’t miss your chance at the $71 million jackpot prize, which carries with it a $39 million cash value.
