Mega Millions Jackpot Grows to $30 Million

April 2, 2014 – Nobody won the Mega Millions jackpot Tuesday night, so the top prize grew to an estimated $30 million ahead of Friday night’s drawing.

Tuesday’s winning Mega Millions numbers were 10, 23, 68, 74, 75 and the Mega Ball was 9.  The Megaplier drawn Tuesday was 5x, so players who won a prize and had the Megaplier option added to their tickets will receive five times the normal prize amount.

While there were three new millionaires made Tuesday night, none of the three added the Megaplier option to win Mega Millions’ highest-possible, $5 million second prize.

Winners in Michigan, North Carolina and New Hampshire all matched the five white numbers to win second prizes Tuesday night; each will receive $1 million.

Along with those three top winners, 11 others matched five out of six numbers – four white balls and the Mega Ball – to win third prizes Tuesday.  10 of those winners will receive the normal $5,000 third prize.

The eleventh third-prize winner added the Megaplier option to their ticket and will receive a $25,000 third prize.

More than 1.2 million players won a prize Tuesday night, including about 140,000 players who added the Megaplier option to their tickets.  Altogether players won nearly $6 million, about $1.1 million of which was won by Megaplier winners.

Friday’s drawing will be held at about 11 p.m. EDT, and the estimated $30 million annuity jackpot carries with it a cash value of about $16 million.
