Mega Millions Jackpot Continues Climb

Oct. 13, 2013 – The Mega Millions jackpot rolled over from $22 to $29 million Friday, as no tickets matched the winning number combination.  Friday’s numbers were 3, 27, 37, 45, 48, the Mega Ball was 46, and Friday’s Megaplier was 4x.

Though nobody was able to win the jackpot prize Friday, there were seven players who matched the five white balls to win second-tier, $250,000 prizes.

Two of those winning tickets were sold in California, and the other five winners are spread across Illinois, Massachusetts, Missouri, New Jersey and Texas.

None of the seven Match 5 winners chose to add the Megaplier option to their tickets for an extra $1, which automatically makes second-tier prizes worth $1 million.

Twelve more players matched four of the white balls and the Mega Ball, earning them $10,000 third prizes.  None of those big winners added the Megaplier option either, which would have multiplied their third-tier prizes to $40,000.

Overall, Friday’s Mega Millions drawing made more than 420,000 winners, who collectively raked in $4,027,787, in prize money.
