Sept. 28, 2013 – Last night’s Mega Millions drawing resulted in another rollover for the jackpot, which swelled from $173 million to $189 million, where it now sits ahead of Tuesday night’s drawing.
The numbers drawn last night were 9, 23, 27, 49, 51, and the Mega Ball was 38.
Friday’s Mega Millions drawing may not have produced a jackpot winner, but 795,541 Mega Millions players can celebrate a win at some level today.
Thirteen of those lucky winners were able to match all five white balls drawn Friday night, but missed the Mega Ball.
Those second-tier winning tickets were sold in Arizona, California, Illinois, Ohio, and Oklahoma. Two winning tickets were each sold in New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, and Texas.
One of the thirteen second-tier prize winners last night can collect $1 million because they added the Megaplier option to their Mega Millions ticket for an extra $1. That ticket with Megaplier was sold in Oklahoma.
It could not be immediately determined whether any of the winners in New Jersey or Ohio chose to add the Megaplier option to their ticket.
Last night’s Megaplier was 2, meaning that non-jackpot prizes won on tickets with the Megaplier option would multiply by 2. Players who match all five white balls automatically win $1 million if they added the Megaplier option to their ticket.
The California Lottery plays all of its games on a pari-mutuel basis, so the Megaplier option is not available to California Mega Millions players. The California winner from last night’s drawing can claim a prize worth $259,368.
