Lucky Day Lotto Now Twice A Day

June 3, 2013 – Hoping to better accommodate players on different work schedules, the Illinois Lottery began a new midday drawing of the state’s Lucky Day Lotto daily jackpot game yesterday.

The game itself has not changed, players still choose five numbers between one and 39 on each $1 ticket, and can add “EZ Match” – a second set of numbers on their ticket, for an extra $1.

The difference is simply another chance to win.  The daily game was formerly drawn only at 9:22 PM, but winning numbers will now be drawn at both 12:40 PM and 9:22 PM.

Jackpots for Lucky Day Lotto start at $100,000 and roll over until some lucky player matches all five numbers.  The odds of winning any prize amount are about 1 in 5

According to the Peoria Journal Star, Lottery officials think the new twice-daily drawings will bring in more Lucky Day Lotto customers.

Lucky Day Lotto accounts for more than $2 million in weekly sales and more than 200 people win jackpots each year.
