April 4, 2014 – More than $500 million was claimed by jackpot winners this week, making it an exciting week despite the relatively lower jackpot values offered by Powerball and Mega Millions.
Also, LotteryHUB this week officially introduced players to the new Mega Millions channel, making LotteryHUB the official mobile app of Powerball and Mega Millions, the two largest lottery brands in the world.
Hopefully this was a great week for all our readers as well, and with lots of money on the line in this weekend’s jackpot games, let’s hope it’s an even more exciting weekend.
Weekly Jackpot Update
Tonight, Mega Millions players will have a chance to claim an estimated $30 million annuity jackpot, which has a cash value worth about $16 million.
Tonight’s drawing for the $30 million prize is the second drawing since a New York Mega Millions player won an estimated $20 million jackpot last Friday night.
And now with LotteryHUB’s new Mega Millions channel, Mega Millions players and fans can watch tonight’s and every drawing live, right on their smartphone. The new Mega Millions channel will also have all the winning numbers and LotteryHUB’s ticket tracking tools.
Saturday’s Powerball jackpot is just starting to draw attention from more casual Powerball players. At an estimated $70 million for Saturday night’s drawing, the Powerball jackpot has a cash value worth more than $40 million.
There have been a lot of winners in the past month or so – two Mega Millions jackpots and two Powerball jackpots were won in the month of March.
The third week of the month was especially lucky as winners matched all six numbers for both games in back-to-back drawings. A Missouri couple won nearly $100 million March 22, just a few days after two winners split an estimated $414 million Mega Millions jackpot.
Want to join the parade of winners? Should you play a Quick Pick or some lucky numbers? The short answer is that improving your odds is next to impossible, but Quick Picks and lucky numbers each offer their own benefits. Check out this post to hear our thoughts on either choice.
LotteryHUB in the News
As mentioned at the top of the Weekly Review this week, LotteryHUB officially announced its partnership with Mega Millions on Monday at the 2014 Smart Tech conference.
Word got out that Mega Millions and Powerball had joined together in one official app – LotteryHUB – making this week very exciting at LotteryHUB’s offices.
LotteryHUB is powered by Shoutz, Inc., a technology company based in Austin, Texas. Shoutz President Brad Duea this week shared the story of how he became the company’s president during a dove hunt. You can read that article from Upstart Business Journal’s Michael del Castillo here.
Businessweek’s Justin Bachman also dove into the announcement that Mega Millions and Powerball were undergoing a “digital and mobile transformation,” explaining what the new partnership could mean for the future of the lottery in the United States.
Thanks to all of LotteryHUB’s fans for helping to make LotteryHUB the most convenient, engaging and rewarding lottery app out there – and now the only official app of Mega Millions and Powerball.
Good luck in this weekend’s drawings!
