LotteryHUB Weekly Review

March 28, 2014 – How’s your bracket doing?  Unfortunately it’s not gonna put a billion dollars in your bank account – none of the NCAA Tournament brackets entered into the Billion-dollar Bracket Challenge survived the first round of the tournament.

So, for all those would-be billionaires it’s back to the lottery for a shot at becoming ultra-rich the easy way.  There’s more than $60 million up for grabs in this weekend’s jackpot games – not a billion dollars, but still definitely a life-changing chunk of money.

Weekly Jackpot Update

The first jackpot players have a shot at is an estimated $15 million annuity prize up for grabs in tonight’s Mega Millions drawing.

Tonight’s Mega Millions drawing is the start of a new jackpot run after a single winner in New York won a $20 million jackpot Tuesday night.  Tuesday’s was just the second drawing after a $414 million jackpot was won by players in Maryland and Florida.

And players can watch tonight’s Mega Millions drawing no matter where they may be.  LotteryHUB version 4.2 was released Monday, introducing the new Mega Millions channel with live streaming, Mega Millions news and ticket tracking for iOS and Android users.

Tomorrow night’s Powerball jackpot has an estimated value of $50 million and a cash value of nearly $29 million.  Powerball too has had a lot of winners recently – a California player won a $60 million jackpot early in March and another player, from Missouri, won a jackpot worth more than $96 million last week.

For a chance to win, you’ve gotta play.  Be sure to pick up your tickets before sales close ahead of the drawings this weekend.  For a state-by-state list of sales cutoff times for Mega Millions, click here.

Weekly News Wrap-up

With so many jackpot winners through March, the Powerball and Mega Millions jackpots have generated a lot of excitement.  Since the Powerball jackpot was won Wednesday night, both nation-wide games are now near their starting jackpot values.

While that means there won’t be much media attention until both prizes grow larger, it also means that less people will be playing over the net week or so, increasing the odds that a jackpot winner will keep the whole prize for themselves rather than splitting with another winner.

Speaking of winners, there was a lucky LotteryHUB Rewards winner this week.  In a special LotteryHUB Rewards drawing yesterday, we gave away a $700 Home Depot Dream Spree.

The perfect prize for spring, we’ll send a gift card out to the lucky winner so they can head to the Home Depot and get ready for cookouts, backyard games and whatever else spring weather might bring.

The biggest news here at LotteryHUB this week though is the release of our new app.  LotteryHUBis now the official mobile app of both Mega Millions and Powerball with the addition of the new Mega Millions channel.

There, LotteryHUB users can find all the same features they’ve grown to love on LotteryHUB’s Powerball channel.  Watch every drawing live, get exclusive video content and news, and take advantage of our ticket tracking tools.

And, with the new notification center in the app, you can choose how we get in touch with you.  Now, you can choose between emails or push notifications for your ticket tracking and jackpot alerts.

Good luck in tonight’s Mega Millions drawing – be sure to catch it live on your smartphone – and good luck with Powerball Saturday.
