LotteryHUB Weekly Review

Nov. 15, 2013 – For many Americans, this week was a four-day work week after the nation celebrated Veteran’s Day Monday.  That doesn’t mean that Friday is any less sweet – only a few hours separate us from “Happy Weekend!”

After the Powerball and Mega Millions jackpots each survived their mid-week drawings, the total prize pool for the multi-state games climbed to $279 million ahead of the weekend drawings.

Tonight’s Mega Millions jackpot is worth an impressive $149 million, carrying a cash value of $80 million.  Millions of players have been winning on every Mega Millions drawing since the game underwent some changes in mid-October, so don’t be left out – grab a $1 Mega Millions ticket before tonight’s drawing!

The Powerball jackpot is sitting at an equally enormous $130 million ahead of Saturday’s drawing, and should any lucky tickets match all six numbers, the winner can choose between that $130 million annuity or the $73.5 million cash option for the prize.

One jackpot that did not make it through the week was the $100,000 top prize for the Michigan Lottery’s month-old Poker Lotto game.  The very first jackpot-winning ticket matched all five cards drawn Wednesday night.  That ticket was sold in Detroit, and the lucky winner has not yet come forward to claim their prize.

Last week was a busy week for winners, and this week was no different, especially in Illinois.  The second of four Halloween Millionaire Raffle grand prize winners, Lisa Hensley, came forward Thursday to claim her $1 million prize from the Illinois Lottery.

Lisa and her husband Jim had just moved to Illinois when Lisa bought her Halloween Millionaire ticket.  They moved from Indiana to be closer to family, and now plan to buy a home still closer to their family in Capron, Ill.

Speaking of raffles, the Pennsylvania Lottery announced today that sales have opened for the seventeenth Millionaire Raffle in the state.  Four lucky Pennsylvania Lottery players will win $1 million prizes, and more than $1 million in other cash prizes will be awarded through the drawing Jan. 4.

Many state lotteries began the week by honoring veterans for their service and promoting special lottery tickets that generate funding exclusively for veterans support programs.

Now, as the week closes out, it’s the lotteries day to be recognized for their service.  Each year, billions of dollars from lotteries help fund special programs for the public benefit.  As today is National Philanthropy Day, LotteryHUB wants to thank the dedication of lottery officials and lottery players everywhere – every dollar goes towards a good cause, and that makes everyone a winner!

Of course, we hope your lottery dollars work for you in more ways than one this weekend, there’s a lot of cash to be won, and LotteryHUB wishes you the best of luck, as always.

Don’t forget to pick up your Mega Millions tickets for tonight’s 11 p.m. ET drawing, and remember to grab Powerball tickets before sales close ahead of Saturday’s Powerball drawing.

You can catch every drawing live on your smartphone with the LotteryHUB mobile app, free for iOS, Android, and Windows Phone.  Not only does the LotteryHUB app keep you on top of all your games, but you can win more with LotteryHUB Rewards.

Watch drawings, videos, and read numbers and news from your state lottery to collect points, then enter into LotteryHUB’s exclusive drawings for awesome prizes – there’s a drawing next week.
