The Kansas Lottery has announced a successful year for the 2013 fiscal year with record contributions to state beneficiaries.
With the 2012-2013 fiscal year ocmign to an end, the Kansas Lottery has announced it had a very successful year, raising record profits to give back to the state.
Proceeds form the Kansas Lottery benefit the state General Fund. This allows the state to utilize the extra revenue in any way they see necessary. In the 2011-2012 fiscal year, the Kansas Lottery transferred over $72 million to the State General Fund. For the 2012-2013 fiscal year, the Kansas Lottery released on Monday June 24 that they had raised over $74.5 million for the General Fund. This is the highest revenue amount since the lottery’s establishment in 1987.
After this fiscal year, the Kansas Lottery will have provided the state with over $1.35 billion since its establishment in 1987. The Kansas Lottery funds for the state also help with problem gambling and hope to provide support for those in need.
