The West Virginia Lottery is sponsoring events all summer, including the 31st Annual Italian Heritage Festival for all who want to let out their inner Italian.
The Upper Ohio Valley Italian Heritage Festival is the second largest festival in the country that honors and celebrates Italian heritage with food, history, fun facts, events, and more. the Italian Festival takes place July 26-28 in Wheeling, WV. This three-day event focuses on the greatness of Italian heritage, as well as provides scholarships for students in the Upper Ohio Valley area.
In an effort to raise awareness for its beneficiaries, especially the PROMISE Scholarship program, the West virginia Lottery sponsors events throughout the state. The West Virginia Lottery was established in 1986, and in its 27 years of operations, the West Virginia Lottery has provided more than $2.5 billion for public education throughout the state. Along with public education, the West Virginia Lottery raises funds for senior citizen assistance, and to help improve tourism throughout the state.
The West Virginia Lottery will be at the Italian Heritage Festival with games, tickets, and more. Along with the lottery, the Festival will feature events including a Bocce tournament, a Pasta Exhibit, Wine Competition, Sauce Competition, and more. There will be a Heritage Port, which will Authentic Italian musicians, a Sunday morning Catholic Mass, Scholarship Presentations, and finish the Festival with a fireworks display.
To go along with the appreciation of the Italian Heritage, there will be an emphasis on Italian spoke language, history of the country of Italy, as well as lessons on how Italian H=Culture has impacted the world and the United States.
