June 10, 2013 – The Emmis Communications Corporation, which operates five radio stations in Indianapolis, announced today that the Hoosier Lottery would be sponsoring the grand finale of their 4th of July fireworks celebration.
“With the Hoosier Lottery coming on board, we’ll be able to add another 500 shells, making the city’s largest fireworks display even bigger and better,” said Emmis Vice President Charlie Morgan.
The 4th of July fireworks display, now in its 43rd year, is called the Donatos Downtown Freedom Blast and is a free event that hundreds of thousands enjoy each year.
The celebration is held at the Indiana War Memorial Grounds where crowds can enjoy a beer garden, Donatos pizza by the slice, carnival attractions for kids, and live entertainment on the Indianapolis Colts Stage.
“Now in its third year as our title sponsor, Donatos continues to deliver on one of Indy’s most popular summer events,” Morgan said.
He added, “We couldn’t be more thrilled to add the Hoosier Lottery Grand Finale, and look forward to producing the Donatos Downtown Freedom Blast for years to come.”
