Hoosier Lottery to broadcast live on FOX59

The Hoosier Lottery is coming back on the air after signing a deal with FOX59 in Central Indiana, the television station will begin to broadcast live Mega Millions and Powerball drawings.

Hoosier Lottery fans have gone 10 years without being able to watch live drawings on TV, and the lottery is ready to remedy that fact. WXIN FOX59 will begin to broadcast live drawings during their news programs that will feature both the Mega Millions and Powerball drawings.

WXIN is the Fox-affiliated station that provides the Indianapolis area with all programming available through the Fox Network. FOX59 is the fifth largest news producer in the country, with a total 60 hours of news per week. FOX59 is owned and operated by Tribune Broadcasting. Tribune Broadcasting is a leading multimedia company that provides television networks, publishing services, and digital publishing for various media outlets. Tribune is the top provider of Fox affiliated networks, including Indianapolis’ own FOX59.

Powerball and Mega Millions are both provided by the Multi-State Lottery Association, MUSL. Powerball drawings are broadcast live every Wednesday and Saturday at 11:00pm EST. Tickets for Powerball are $2 and all players are asked to select 5 numbers from 1-59 and one number from 1-39. Powerball jackpots start at $40 million, and grows by at least $10 million until the prize is claimed. Mega Millions drawings are broadcast every Tuesday and Friday at 11:00pm EST. Tickets are $1 and all players must select 5 numbers from 1-56 and one number from 1-46. The Mega Millions jackpot begins at $12 million, and grows until the jackpot is won.

The Hoosier Lottery decided to bring back live drawings after customers requested a place to watch drawings live. The hoosier Lottery hopes the more immediate results of winning numbers will increase sales and boost revenue. The hoosier Lottery benefits retired teachers, police officers and firefighters. Mega Millions and Powerball will be the first games provided by the hoosier Lottery that will be broadcast. Daily 3 and Daily 4 will be broadcast once the lottery selects someone to perform the drawings.
