Hoosier Lottery Is Making You a Lucky Dog

Sept. 5, 2013 – The Hoosier Lottery introduced a new scratch card this month, Lucky Dog, which features dogs from adoption shelters all over Indiana.

The Lottery’s partnership with the Humane Society, SPCA, and local shelters is intended to raise awareness of pet adoption in Indiana.  Lucky Dog scratch-offs feature a picture of an available pooch, their name, and where they can be adopted.

To play the $2 scratch card, Lucky Dog, you just have to match any of “Your Numbers” to any “Winning Number” and you will win the prize shown. Reveal a “BONE” symbol and you win double the prize amount. The top prize is $10,000 and eighteen lucky dogs have a chance to win it. Other prizes include $500, $200, $100, and $40. The overall odds of winning are 1:4.73.

In addition to winning on the scratch card the Lottery is offering you the chance to win a $25 Lottery Prize Pack with their Lucky Dog of the Week Promotion. The Lucky Dog of the Week Promotion is run through the Hoosier Lottery Facebook page. To enter you just post a picture of your lucky dog to their page and the pet with the most likes at 10 am every Monday morning wins. For a full list of rules visit their site here.

The Lottery is also giving away free Lucky Dog scratch cards to each person who adopts from one of the participating shelters. And you don’t even have to sit for this treat! Next time you’re out, make sure to grab a Lucky Dog scratch card from the Hoosier Lottery. Even if you don’t win the $10,000 you can still help one lucky dog win a happy life through adoption.
