Lottery officials have confirmed that 84-year-old from Zephyrhills, FL. purchased the winning ticket from a Publix supermarket in Zephyrhills, FL. has won the largest jackpot in Powerball history, worth an estimated $590,500,000 for the May 18 drawing. She bought a $2 Quick Pick ticket and ended up winning more than anyone could imagine.
Mrs. MacKenzie chose the lump sum option, collecting a one-time payment of $$370,896,780.54 cash.
Gloria MacKenzie lives in Zephyrhills, FL with her husband Scott, and bought a single ticket from Quick Pick after another customer allowed her to go ahead of them. Mrs. MacKenzie wants people to respect her privacy and allow her to maintain a level of anonymity.
Zephyrhills is a small town northeast of Tampa, FL. The town has approximately 13,337 residents, all of whom are excited to have sold the winning ticket in their tiny town. The small town is known for its bottled water, and now the largest Powerball win to date.
