Game Book from Iowa Lottery takes Best Game Award

Oct. 4, 2013 – The Iowa Lottery announced Friday that it’s Game Book – which brings together several games in one $20 booklet – won a Best New Instant Game Award from the North American Association of State and Provincial Lotteries (NASPL).

The Game Book was nominated for the award along with the Minnesota Lottery’s Big Cash Crossword scratch-off game.

A panel of judges from the Rhode Island Lottery, the host of this year’s NASPL conference, deemed Iowa’s Game Book the winner based on criteria including visual appeal, ease of play, and innovation, according to a press release from Pollard Banknote.

For the Iowa Lottery’s players, the Game Book was a winner long before Friday’s award.  When the game launched in the beginning of 2013, the Iowa Lottery ordered a two-year supply of tickets.

Players scratched through that two-year supply in just four months, according to the Iowa Lottery.

The incredible success of the Game Book and player praise for the booklet of eight games convinced the Lottery to order more booklets.  Today, Iowa Lottery players can find the same innovative play style and range of prizes under the name Blazing Hot 7s Game Book, which still offers 1 in about 2.5 odds for $20.
