Florida Lottery Starts Jackpot Combo

Sept. 9, 2013 – The Florida Lottery today began offering its players the easiest way to get in on the biggest jackpot games – “Jackpot Combo.”

Rather than making three separate transactions at a lottery retailer, Florida Lottery players can now ask for a Jackpot Combo and get a Powerball ticket, Mega Millions ticket, and a Florida Lotto with XTRA ticket for $5.

The three games generally offer the highest prize payouts of all of the Florida Lottery’s draw games, and all require players to match six numbers to win the jackpot prize.

The Jackpot Combo deal replaces the popular “Grouper” ticket package, which the Florida Lottery stopped selling yesterday, Sept. 8.

Grouper was also a $5 ticket package, and included Cash 3, Play 4, Fantasy 5, Mega Money, and Florida Lotto tickets, plus one free ticket.

The new Jackpot Combo option gives players a shot at bigger winnings, especially on the included Florida Lotto ticket, which will include the XTRA multiplier option when purchased with the Jackpot Combo.

Florida Lotto’s XTRA option can multiply some non-jackpot prizes by up to 5 times, and also wins Lotto players a free ticket if they only match two of the six numbers drawn. ¬†Normally, there is no prize for a 2 of 6 ticket.

“We are excited to offer our players three chances to cash in on their jackpot dreams with one easy purchase,” said Florida Lottery Secretary Cynthia O’Connell in a press release. ¬†“JACKPOT COMBO is a wonderful complement to the Lottery’s three biggest jackpot games.”

All tickets sold in a Jackpot Combo package are Quick Pick tickets, and are not eligible for advance play sales, meaning they’re only valid for the next drawing.
