Florida Lottery honors Bright Futures Scholarship winners
The Florida Lottery along with the University of North Florida honored the recent recipients of the Bright Futures Scholarship with an ice cream social to kick off the fall semester.
The Bright Futures Scholarship Program was started in 1997 and is funded by the Florida Lottery. Bright Futures helps give high school seniors who excel in academics a chance to expand their knowledge through lottery-funded scholarships. Students who receive the scholarship must achieve a high school GPA of 3.5 or higher, and show a dedication to learning.
The Florida Lottery along with the University of North Florida held an ice cream social to honor the newest recipients of the Bright Futures Scholarship entering into the fall semester at UNF. Since 1997, there have been over 65,000 Bright Futures Scholarship recipients who have attended the University of North Florida. To date, the Bright Futures Scholarship program has helped more than 600,000 students attend college, with over $3.9 billion contributed to continuing education. The University of North Florida recognized the Florida Lottery for their excellence in providing for education. The ice cream social helped the Florida Lottery meet with some of their recent recipients and learn their goals for their upcoming years at UNF.
