Free Keno Tickets Fridays in February

Jan. 31, 2014 – One week from today, the Ohio Lottery will begin giving away free Keno tickets as part of a month-long promotion that should help some lucky Keno players make the most of their Friday nights. Every Friday in February, every fiftieth ticket purchased will come with four extra Keno tickets, each worth $1 with a different number of spots in play. The promotion will run from 4 to 9 p.m each Friday, and Keno players don’t need to make any specific Keno wager for a chance to score some free tickets. Any Keno purchase is eligible, and if a ticket is the fiftieth to be purchased since the last free-ticket winner, the four free plays will automatically be awarded. Each time around, lucky player number 50 will receive four $1 tickets, one each of a 1-spot, 2-spot, 3-spot and 4-spot play. Keno players who score those free tickets have a chance to win as much as $72 on the 4-spot game alone, and, if all four free tickets manage to match one of the winning numbers, they’d pay out $112. The promotion is available all through the state, and the Ohio Lottery’s website offers a “Find a Retailer” tool where players can find Keno retailers nearby....

New $30 Ohio Lottery Scratch-Off

Jan. 16, 2014 – Beginning today, players may find something new in their Ohio Lottery retailers.  To celebrate their 40th anniversary, the Lottery is rolling out a brand new scratch-off game with a never-before seen price tag. The new 40th Anniversary Millions  ticket will cost $30 – $10 more than any of the Lottery’s other offerings.  The price-tag bump, however, means the Lottery can offer more and bigger prizes. The game boasts an incredible $10 million top prize, and five of those top prizes are available. Second-prize winners will score a cool $1 million on the game, and there are 35 million-dollar winning tickets waiting to be scratched. Other prizes range from break-even $30 prizes to $50,000, and the estimated number of winning tickets at each prize level is unprecedented; there are 100 winning tickets worth $50,000, and another 240 winners will score $20,000 prizes. According to the game rules, players who win either the $10 million top prize or the $1 million second prize can choose to take a lump-sum payout or a 25-year annuity option. The $1 million prize would have a cash option worth about half that, while the annuity would pay out $40,000 before taxes, every year for 25 years. The cash option for the $10 million prize would also be about half the full value, and the 25-year annuity option would pay $400,000 before taxes each year....

Powerball Ultimate Tailgate – One Month Left

Jan. 9, 2014 – Powerball players in 18 states have just one more month to enter into their state’s Powerball Ultimate Tailgate promotion.  200 contest winners from participating states will live out every football fan’s dream – a five-day trip to the Football Hall of Fame, and a chance to hang out with 100 Pro Football Hall of Famers. The Ultimate Tailgate promotion opened in November, and with about one month left to enter into each state’s individual contest drawings, now is the time for serious football fans to enter for their chance to win. Winners from each state will be provided with transportation to Cleveland, Ohio, to help celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Pro Football Hall of Fame during the Hall of Fame Fan Festival, which will run May 3-4 at the I-X Center there. The night before the Fan Festival begins, Ultimate Tailgate Party winners and their guests will eat dinner with one of the 100 Hall of Famers, and then team up with another to compete in a tournament of tailgating games. Players must purchase $10 or more on a single Powerball ticket for their ticket to be eligible.  That’s at least five plays, and with the jackpot sitting at $80 million right now, that’s five chances to win some serious cash. Ultimate Tailgate Party Powerball Promotion

Nov. 8, 2013 – How’d you like to meet a professional football legend?  How about 100 of them?  That’s just the opportunity Powerball players can have if they enter into the Ultimate Tailgate Party promotion in any of 18 participating states. Two hundred contest winners will get a football fan’s dream vacation – a 5-day-long trip to Cleveland, Ohio to celebrate the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s 50th anniversary with 100 Hall of Famers at the 2014 Fan Festival. The Fan Festival, which will run May 3 and 4 at the I-X Center in Cleveland, is the first-ever celebration of the fans behind Pro Football and the Hall of Fame, and pro football greats are excited to recognize the fans who supported them as players. Hall of Famer Terry Bradshaw said in an I-X Center press release “I realize more than ever how much I owe to the fans… this Fan Fest is a great chance to say thanks to the Hall of Fame fans of the game.” The Fan Festival will feature Hall of Famers discussing next season’s draft, giving commentary through a sports movie film festival, signing autographs and even holding a football clinic on a 100-yard field in the I-X Center. While the Fan Festival will be open to anyone who buys a ticket (ticket sales begin in December), Powerball contest winners will be treated to the Ultimate Tailgate Party the evening before the Fan Festival kicks off.  What’s any pro football event without a great tailgate, right? The 200 winners of the Powerball contest and their lucky guests will get to sit down to dinner with one of the 100 Hall of Famers present.  After dinner, winners will team up with a different Hall of Famer to compete in a tournament of several different games. Each winner will receive round-trip airfare for themselves and three guests.  Once in Cleveland, participating lotteries will also provide them with two hotel rooms, meals and transportation. Along with admission to the Ultimate Tailgate Party...

Multi-State Raffle Makes Three New Millionaires

Nov. 4, 2013 – The multi-state raffle, Halloween-themed in five of the seven participating states, ended Friday as the Grand Prize drawing awarded three $1 million prizes to players in three states. The three $1 million tickets were sold in New Jersey, Michigan and Ohio.  Michigan’s winning number was 030833, the New Jersey ticket was number 0076334, and Ohio’s winning ticket was number 42167. The raffle began with just two $1 million prizes, but because of the number of tickets sold, an announcement was made on Halloween, less than 24 hours ahead of the drawing – that a third top prize would be added. The remaining four states without a $1 million winner, Iowa, Indiana, New York and Oklahoma each had their own, state-exclusive drawing for a $50,000 second prize.  Click the links above or head to the state Lottery’s website to find second-prize winning numbers. With the excitement around the multi-state raffle over, players might find themselves looking for a new multi-state contest. That makes it the perfect time to get involved in the Powerball Ultimate Tailgate promotion, which participating states are beginning to offer for their players.  (Read this post from Rhode Island to get an idea of what the Ultimate Tailgate promotion is offering.)...

Third Top Prize Added to Multi-State Raffle

Oct. 31, 2013 – With the sales cut-off for the multi-state raffle looming, the Oklahoma Lottery announced Thursday that a third $1 million prize will be awarded during the Nov. 1 drawing. Tickets for the raffle are available only in the seven participating states, New York, New Jersey, Iowa, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio and Oklahoma.  Five of those states have dubbed the raffle a “Halloween Raffle.”  Ohio is calling it the Multi-State Millions Raffle, and Oklahoma has named their version of the game the National Millionaire Raffle. Oklahoma Lottery Director Rollo Redburn said in a press release that the Lottery was “excited to add another million dollar prize to the raffle.” “We encourage anyone that wants to participate in the raffle to get their tickets now,” Redburn said. Tickets for the raffle are $10 in all seven of the participating states, and can be found at any regular Lottery retailer.  Ticket sales for the multi-state game close at 11:59 p.m. Halloween night, and the final drawing will be held Nov. 1. Once the final drawing chooses winning numbers for the three $1 million prizes, each state without a $1 million winner will hold its own drawing for a $50,000 second...
