New Mexico Powerball Ticket Expires Soon

Dec. 11, 2014 – The New Mexico Lottery is asking Powerball players in the state to check their Powerball tickets, a $1 million prize won in the summer is about to expire if the winner doesn’t come forward with the lucky ticket. The winner matched all five white numbers drawn in the Sept. 27 Powerball drawing: 2, 11, 35, 52 and 54.  The Powerball that night was 13. The lucky winner has about two weeks to claim their $1 million prize, which expires on Christmas Eve, Dec. 21. (Talk about a stocking stuffer!) “If ever there was a time to clean out every nook and cranny in your home or car, this is it,” said David Bardem, New Mexico Lottery CEO.  “Someone was very lucky on drawing night, but they need to make their own luck right now by finding the ticket and turning it in for this amazing prize.” According to a New Mexico Lottery press release, the million-dollar ticket was sold at the Circle K located at 3622 State Highway 528 NW in Albuquerque. The press release also specifies that the winner bought their ticket at 1:57 p.m. the day of the drawing. Hopefully someone takes Bardem’s advice and finds their ticket before Christmas Eve.  If it’s you, don’t forget to sign the back of your ticket immediately, then keep it in a safe – but memorable – place until you’re ready to pick up your million bucks....

Backseat Lottery Ticket Wins Jackpot

July 22, 2014 – A New Mexico man was driving around with hundreds of thousands of dollars sitting in his backseat, yet he didn’t realize it for months. Dennis Romero, from Albuquerque, N.M., bought a quick pick ticket for the New Mexico Lottery’s Roadrunner Cash game way back in May.  On the May 29 drawing, Romero hit the jackpot – but he never checked the ticket. That’s why he was shocked last Friday to find out that he’d won a $385,000 jackpot almost two months ago. Romero told lottery officials yesterday that he noticed some old tickets in the backseat of his car, and decided it was about time to stop and check them at a lottery retailer. “When it said ‘Claim at lottery,’ I knew I had won something big,” Romero said. “Something big” indeed.  Romero’s ticket matched the five Roadrunner Cash numbers drawn May 29 – 4, 10, 12, 31 and 32 – to win the jackpot, but that wasn’t all of Romero’s winnings. The lucky ticket had two other lines, which each won $1!  Sure, it’s not a second jackpot, but two bucks is a nice cherry on top of Romero’s $385,000.  The big winner said he’d use his jackpot to pay bills and get ready for retirement. Romero also told lottery officials that he’s learned an important lesson: “From now on, I’m going to check my tickets more...

Feb. 5, 2014 – The New Mexico Lottery has shiny new Ford F-150 trucks to give away with their new scratch-off game, Trucks and Bucks, which went on sale this week. The Trucks and Bucks scratch-off tickets cost just $3 and offer players overall odds of about 1 in 4.  There are three of the brand-new trucks to be won instantly on the scratch-off ticket, all three red F-150 XLT SuperCabs.
