Minnesota Millionaire Raffle Less Than a Week Away

Oct. 22, 2013 – Just six days remain until the Minnesota Lottery’s Millionaire Raffle kicks off this year, offering players great chances to win one of more than 100 big cash prizes. This year’s Raffle will feature two $1 million top prizes, five $100,000 prizes, five $25,000 prizes, and 100 $500 prizes.  But cash isn’t the only thing Minnesota Lottery players have a chance to win. This year’s Millionaire Raffle also has some incredible bonus prizes, including new 2014 vehicles from Ford. One of those prizes is a 2014 Ford Mustang convertible, and the Minnesota Lottery is going to pay the taxes for the winner.  Along with three new cars up for grabs, bonus prizes include thousands of dollars in gas money and other gift cards, as well as some great vacation packages. The Lottery will only sell 600,000 tickets for the Raffle.  Ticket sales start on Oct. 29, and will remain open until Dec. 31, provided that Raffle tickets don’t sell out before that time. The final drawing will be held on New Years Day 2014, and the winners will be announced on television three times that night: 6:59 p.m., 7:59 p.m., and 8:59 p.m. Along with the more than 100 winners of big cash prizes, 38 winners will claim bonus prizes. Minnesota Lottery’s Big Cash Crossword Nominated for Award

Sept. 26, 2013 – The Minnesota Lottery’s Big Cash Crossword, a giant-sized scratch-off game that ended in mid-July, has been nominated for a Best New Instant Game Award by the North American Association of State and Provincial Lotteries (NASPL). Pollard Banknote, the Minnesota Lottery’s vendor for instant tickets, announced Tuesday that the enormous scratch-off card, which measured nearly 7.8″ x 8″, had been nominated for the award along with 12 other finalists. “Pollard Banknote is thrilled to see the well-deserving Minnesota Lottery recognized within the industry for their unique and innovative instant game concepts,” said Pollard Banknote co-CEO Doug Pollard. The giant game, which was launched at the end of 2012 and sold for six months, featured six individual games on one ticket.  Players had the opportunity to win up to $300,000 on Big Cash Crossword, as well extra ways to win through what Pollard called ” interactive cross-promotional play experience[s].” Just before the Big Cash Crossword game ended, the Minnesota Lottery released Big Money Bonus Crossword, another giant ticket that offers players the same six-puzzle format with a $300,000 top prize. On April 17, 1990 the Minnesota Lottery began selling its first scratch-off tickets. The Minnesota Lottery has given the state of Minnesota over 20 years of prizes and more. As the home of the recent Powerball jackpot winner, the Minnesota Lottery has a lot of reasons to celebrate. The Minnesota Lottery began with a goal to benefit the General Fund. Since its inception, the Minnesota Lottery has given more than $2.2 billion back to the state. For every $1 spent on lottery tickets, 24% goes back to the state to benefit the General Fund. The money from the Minnesota Lottery helps benefit different projects including K-12 education, the Minnesota environment, health care, aid to local governments, and more. The Minnesota Lottery has kept its promise for the past 22 years to keep providing for the state of Minnesota. This year, the Minnesota Lottery celebrated its sixth straight year of record sales. For the 2012 fiscal year, the Minnesota Lottery raised more than $139 million for the Minnesota General Fund. Recently, the Minnesota Lottery was able to celebrate being the home of one of the most recent Powerball jackpot winners. Paul White from Hamm Lake, MN claimed one third of the recent Powerball jackpot, which reached an astounding $448 million before the drawing on Wednesday August 7. White was one of 3 winners for the drawing, and the only winner from the proud state of Minnesota. He won a $149 million slice of the jackpot, and he chose the cash option for around $86 million.  After taxes he’ll receive just over $58 million. Currently, the Minnesota Lottery is giving baseball fans the chance to attend the 2014 All-Star game, which will be hosted at Target field in Minneapolis.
