Washington Redskins Tickets Up For Grabs

Sept. 15, 2014 – Washington Redskins fans, now is your chance to win a pair of seats for the 2015 season.  Through a special contest, the Maryland Lottery is giving away pairs of season tickets for next year in Washington, D.C. The special contest is being held through the Lottery’s My Rewards website, and Maryland Lottery players don’t need to buy special scratch-off tickets for their chance to win. Instead, players can enter the codes from any of these non-winning lottery tickets to receive My Rewards points.  Then, players looking for a ticket to the game can redeem their points as entries into the Redskins contest. Each entry will cost you 25 points, and players will have five chances to win Redskins tickets.  Four drawings will choose winners of 2015 season ticket packages.  A single, separate drawing will choose one lucky winner to follow the Redskins to New York this December, where they’ll face off against the Giants. The winner of the away game package will be provided with round-trip train tickets from Maryland to New York to start their trip.  Once they arrive, the winner and a guest will be able to check into a hotel paid for by the Maryland Lottery, then they’ll have dinner the night before the game with Redskins executives. On game day, the lucky winner and their guest will be able to see the field as the players do with pre-game field passes, then they’ll have two tickets to cheer on the Redskins in New York. Winners of the 2015 season ticket packages will have to wait a bit longer before they do any cheering, but for the biggest fans, this is probably the prize to shoot for. In each of the four season ticket package drawings, one lucky winner will be chosen to receive a pair of upper-level season tickets for the 2015 Redskins season. They’ll also receive premium parking passes for each game, and no true fan forgets their gear on Sunday (or Monday, or Thursday),...

Baltimore Ravens Scratch-offs Released in Md.

July 29, 2014 – August is coming and, with it, training camp; football fans nationwide are gearing up for the season.  In Maryland, Ravens fans can scratch away their anxiety for the season to begin – the Maryland Lottery released a special Baltimore Ravens scratch-off ticket Monday. This is the sixth year that the Lottery and the state’s professional football team have partnered to offer a themed instant game.  This year’s game is called “Ravens Cash Fantasy,” and is already available in Lottery retailers. Along with opportunities to win cash prizes on the instant tickets, Maryland Lottery players will also have the chance to win cash and prizes like season tickets or vacations through a special second chance promotion. “Our Ravens ticket and second chance contest has proven to be extremely popular with players during the past several years,” said Stephen Martino, director of the Maryland Lottery and Gaming Control Agency, in a press release. “We’re excited to continue our partnership with this world-class organization and offer cash and exclusive prizes to Lottery players and Ravens fans,” Martino said. Baltimore Ravens President Dick Cass said the organization is “…proud to have the Maryland Lottery as one of our most significant partners,” adding that he’s happy the Lottery “will again offer a scratch-off ticket that will give our fans the opportunity to win outstanding prizes…” The Ravens Cash Fantasy ticket itself costs $5 to play and boasts 160 top prizes worth $5,000, as well as more than 28,000 other instant cash prizes, according to the Lottery press release. Ravens fans playing the scratch-off might be hoping not to win – at least the first time around.  The Ravens Cash Fantasy second chance promotion, which is being run through the Lottery’s My Lottery Rewards program, offers players an incredible grand prize: Ravens season tickets for 20 years. Players can win other season ticket packages and cash prizes through the second chance promotion as well.  There will be four second-chance drawings over the next few months and, by...

Medal Madness Winners Scoop $375,000

March 10, 2014 – The Maryland Lottery last week drew the names of more than 50 winners in the Medal Madness promotion, which ran from Jan. 20 through Feb. 23. The winner of the $250,000 top prize in the Medal Madness drawing was 82-year-old Emerald Blue, of Temple Hills.  According to a Maryland Lottery press release, Blue and his family arrived at Lottery headquarters Thursday to claim their prize. “He is the luckiest man I know [and] we’re so happy for him,” Blue’s son told Lottery officials. Windsor Mill resident Ulysses Eure, Jr., was the winner of the $50,000 Medal Madness second prize, and Donna Price, from Glen Burnie, won the $25,000 third prize. Eure told lottery officials he’d use some of the money to move back to his hometown in North Carolina, and Price said she’d use some of her winnings to help pay the bills. Along with the top three winners, the Lottery also drew 50 other names last week.  Those 50 winners will each receive $1,000 cash prizes from the Medal Madness promotion. The Medal Madness promotion gave players an opportunity to “go for gold,” with the bronze, silver and gold “medals” printing out on any of the lottery’s draw game tickets. But it also gave the Lottery an opportunity to grow its fan base a bit.  When they launched the game, Maryland Lottery officials said they would add $25,000 to the prize pool if they got 62,500 “likes” on their Facebook page. That goal was met, and another 25 prizes worth $1,000 were added to the pool.  Had they reached 65,000 “likes,” the Lottery was prepared to add two more of the $25,000 third prizes to the mix.  The Lottery currently has over 63,000 Facebook “likes.” Along with the extra opportunity to boost the odds, players everywhere were able to win instant vouchers worth $2, $5 or $10 during the promotion.  The prizes would print out on any draw game ticket and players could use them for any game –...

Man Wins Ravens Season Tickets for 20 Years

Feb. 24, 2014 – In a special contest from the Maryland Lottery and the Baltimore Ravens, one winner was chosen from four finalists to receive season tickets to Ravens home games for the next 20 years. The four contest finalists in the “Seats for 20 Years” contest met Friday at the M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore for the drawing.  The finalists toured the empty stadium and had their pictures taken on the 50-yard-line before sitting down to see which of them had won the big prize. The winner of two club-level seats and free parking for every pre-season and regular season game for the next 20 years was Vernon Miller, Jr., from Bel Air, Md. “Congratulations Vernon Miller,” a message from the Maryland Lottery and the Baltimore Ravens shone down on the empty stadium from the jumbotron.  Miller “was breathless” when he found out he was the big winner, according to a Maryland Lottery press release. In all, Miller’s prize is worth somewhere between $100,000 and $150,000, including the two club-level tickets and Miller’s very own Personal Seat License (PSL) from the Baltimore Ravens. His PSL will allow Miller to purchase season tickets after his 20 years of free games is up, or he can pass control of the seats to anyone he’d like so they can purchase the tickets. This is the fifth year in a row that the Lottery has held their Mega Power Seats for 20 Years promotion.  More than 200,000 players entered non-winning Mega Millions or Powerball tickets into the contest along with Miller and the other three finalists. And while Miller walked away Friday with the biggest prize of all, the other three finalists each received $5,000 consolation prizes – enough to buy almost any PSL in the Ravens...

Maryland Lottery’s Medal Madness

Jan. 22, 2014 – Maryland Lottery players may have noticed some of their favorite draw game tickets are printing out with a new feature on them; bronze, silver and gold “medals” will print out on some of the tickets from the Lottery’s terminal games until Feb. 23. The medals are a part of the Lottery’s new Medal Madness promotion, which began Monday.  All of the Lottery’s terminal games – 10 in total including Pick 3, Pick 4, Powerball, Mega Millions and more – are eligible for the promotion, which will award $350,000 in prizes through a second-chance drawing. There is another side to Medal Madness too.  The Lottery wants to reach 65,000 likes on their Facebook page,  and if they meet that goal they’ll add another $50,000 in prizes to the Medal Madness prize pool. To enter, players need to collect a set of three medals – bronze, silver and gold – and mail them in to the Lottery’s P.O. box in Baltimore.  (You can find the exact address here, on the Medal Madness webpage.) Each entry must be mailed in a separate envelope, but players can enter into the contest as many times as they’d like.  Only non-winning tickets purchased before Feb. 23 can be entered into the contest, and entries must arrive in the mail by March 3. In the drawing, one winner will be selected to win a grand prize worth $250,000, another will receive a $50,00 prize. There is one $25,000 third prize and twenty-five $1,000 prizes planned for the drawing, but there could be 50 prizes worth $1,000, and two more $25,000 prizes could be added as well. That’s where Facebook ties into the game.  On the Medal Madness webpage, players will see three medals with the word “locked” on them. When the Lottery reaches 60,000 “likes” on their Facebook page, the bronze “wildcard” will unlock.  Players will be able to print out a “wildcard” which can take the place of any one ticket in an entry. So, if...
