All or Nothing Game Launched in Iowa, Minnesota

Jan. 24, 2014 – The Iowa and Minnesota Lotteries have teamed up to offer players in both states a new draw game called “All or Nothing” with a unique style of play. All or Nothing, as the name might suggest, pays out if players match all of the winning numbers or none of them. The jackpot prize for the game is $100,000, and players must pick 12 numbers from a set of 24.  When the winning numbers are drawn, if a player matches all 12 correctly or doesn’t match any numbers, they win the $100,00 jackpot prize. “If you never match anything in lottery drawings, we have the game for you,” said Iowa Lottery CEO Terry Rich. Minnesota Lottery Director Ed Van Petten said they “couldn’t decide if people should win for matching them all or coming up empty, so we decided ‘Heck, let’s do both.'” Along with the All or Nothing jackpot there are another eight ways to win a prize on the game.  Players can win the $1,000 second prize by matching 11 numbers or just matching one number. There are also prizes for matching 10 numbers or just two, nine numbers or only three, and eight numbers or four. The game will make its debut in both states Tuesday, Jan. 28.  There will be two drawings each day, at 12:45 p.m and 8:45 p.m., and sales will close about 35 minutes prior to each drawing. The unique style of play is offered by other U.S. lotteries and, according to the Iowa and Minnesota Lotteries, All or Nothing is an ever-popular game. “We’re looking forward to this lotto-with-a-twist concept, and we think our two states will have fun with it too,” Rich said....

Iowa’s “Ride To Riches” Benefitting Veterans

Jan. 7, 2014 – The Iowa Lottery released its newest scratch-off game Monday.  Called Ride to Riches, proceeds from the new game will help support veterans and their families through the Iowa Veterans Trust Fund. For one lucky Iowa Lottery player, one of the new $1 Ride to Riches tickets could turn into a set of keys for a brand-new 2013 Victory Boardwalk motorcycle, custom-painted by one of Iowa’s most famous artists. That prize will be awarded through an exclusive Ride to Riches second chance drawing, but before anyone enters for a second chance, they’ll have to play the game first. The new $1 tickets offer players a chance to win up to $1,000, and features six other instant cash prizes.  The game has overall odds better than 1 in 5, and playing is simple: scratch off the play area, and if you uncover a picture that looks like a motorcycle, you’ll win the cash prize shown. Non-winning tickets for the new veterans benefit game could be worth more than 30 times the top prize offered on each ticket though, so players won’t want to toss aside tickets that don’t turn into instant cash. The 2013 Victory Boardwalk motorcycle up for grabs in the second chance promotion features a custom-painted gas tank by Iowa’s own Ray “Bubba” Sorenson II. Sorenson is best known for his annual Memorial Day painting of the Freedom Rock in Iowa, which honors veterans of the U.S. military in a unique way each year. With his touch, the Victory Boardwalk that the Iowa Lottery is giving away is worth an incredible $21,499, according to the Lottery’s website.  Along with the one-of-a-kind prize, the Lottery will also chip in for state and federal taxes on the brand-new bike, and they’ll pay the licensing and title fees for the winner too. Ride to Riches is not just a new game, but a new way for Iowa Lottery players to support veterans in the state.  With chances to win up to $1,000 or a shot...
