Lucky Georgia Lottery Player Wins New Car

July 31, 2015 – One lucky Georgia Lottery player is enjoying the new car smell today after winning the very first of 10 Kia Optimas the Lottery plans to give away over the next few months. The winner can drive away in their prize thanks to the Georgia Lottery’s Jackpot scratch-off games and the corresponding online contest.  The first of ten weekly drawings was held yesterday. The Jackpot second chance contest will give away a 2015 Kia Optima EX each week until October 1.  Each car has an estimated retail value of $25,000, and includes leather seats, a push-button ignition, Bluetooth hands-free systems and Sirius XM satellite radio. Georgia Lottery players can only enter non-winning Jackpot series tickets into the second chance contest, and must be registered for the Lottery’s VIP club to enter.  According to the contest’s official rules, the Lottery will only accept online entries, mailed entries will be thrown out. Before you start dreaming about your new Kia Optima, remember that the Jackpot series tickets each offer incredible cash prizes, too.  There are four different tickets available, including the most affordable $1 ticket and most expensive $20 ticket, and the mid-range $3 and $5 tickets.  Together, the new Jackpot series of tickets offer millions in potential winnings. Top prizes on the games range from $50,000 – which players can win from the $1 ticket – to $3 million, the top prize for the $20 Jackpot ticket.  With that kind of money, you could afford a whole fleet of new Kias… or maybe one much, much more expensive car.   For more information about the Jackpot series and the corresponding second chance contest, visit the Georgia Lottery website. Georgia Play it Again is Back

Nov. 11, 2014 – In response to player demand, the Georgia Lottery has brought back their popular Play it Again second-chance contests. This time around there will be one drawing each month for the next eight months, and just like the first Play it Again promotion, each month’s drawing will put a unique featured prize up for grabs. Featured prizes include an Extreme Shopping Spree up for grabs next month, vacations to Vegas, any theme park in America, cruises and more – players can even win themselves an in-home movie theater. Unlike last year’s Play it Again promotion, each month’s top winners in the new version will have a chance to spin a prize wheel showing cash prizes and the Featured Prize. Prize wheel players get two spins.  If they land on a cash prize, they’ll receive that amount on the spot.  If the spinner hits the $25,000 section of the wheel, the player will have a chance to win $1,000,000 with their second spin.  If the spinner lands on the Featured Prize, the player can choose to take the prize or its cash option. With their second spin, almost everything is the same: players will receive the prize that the spinner lands on.  However, if the player hit the $25,000 wheel section on their first spin, then hit it again with their second spin, they’ll win $1 million! If players don’t win their chance on the prize wheel, they can still score some awesome prizes just by taking a second chance on non-winning tickets: each monthly drawing will award Prize Store points to 1,000 other winners. Seven-hundred-sixty winners will win 10,000 points, 200 winners will win 20,000 points, and 40 lucky winners will score 40,000 points to the Prize Store – almost enough points to put in an order for a 40-inch TV. Of course, you can’t win if you don’t Play it Again.  This time around players can enter non-winning $1 and $2 scratch-offs into the contest, just like before, but the Georgia Lottery...

Decades of Dollars Game Ending

Aug. 11, 2014 – Arkansas, Georgia, and Kentucky  Lottery players have only a few drawings left before Decades of Dollars, a twice-weekly, multi-state draw game with a top prize of $250,000 per year for 30 years, ends its run. Decades of Dollars was launched in each of the three states and Virginia in 2011 and is now being discontinued to make way for a new multi-state, premium draw game. The final Decades of Dollars drawing in each state will be Thursday, Oct. 16, which leaves just 20 more drawings in the game’s run. Each ticket costs $2, and the game is played much the same as Powerball or Mega Millions: players choose six numbers between 1 and 47, then try to match their ticket to the six winning numbers in each drawing. Players who match all six numbers win the quarter-million-dollar per year prize, but there are three other prizes that players can win with Decades of Dollars. Players can win the game’s second prize, worth $10,000, by matching five of the six winning numbers.  Matching four numbers will win players a $100 prize, the prize for matching three numbers is $10, and players who match two numbers win $2 or a free ticket. Decades of Dollars drawings are held every Monday and Thursday at 11 p.m. ET.  After the drawing tonight, Monday, Aug. 11, advance play sales will begin being limited to the number of drawings remaining; 19 plays after tonight’s drawing, 18 after Thursday’s drawing, and so on....

Georgia Lottery Giving Away Kias for 21st Birthday

July 23, 2014 – The Georgia Lottery officially celebrated its twenty-first birthday Tuesday, announcing a new family of instant games, the 21 Black series, and a partnership with Kia Motors. The new game and the Lottery’s new partnership go hand-in-hand; players can enter non-winning 21 Black series scratch-off tickets online for a chance to win a brand new Kia Soul. The Georgia Lottery will give away 12 new Souls over the next 12 weeks through special second chance drawings for 21 Black players.  The first drawing will be held about a week from now on July 31, so start entering non-winning tickets! The 21 Black series offers four different tickets at $1, $2, $5 and $20 price points.  Top prizes on the games range from $20,000 to $2.5 million. The 21 Black series games are all simple matching games, though each has different multipliers and special prizes.  You can learn more about each game in the 21 Black series on the Georgia Lottery’s instant games page. For lots of players, a brand new Kia Soul might be more enticing than an instant cash prize – here’s how to enter for your chance to win. First, you’ll need to register or log in to the Georgia Lottery’s Player’s Club.  Once you’re in, enter the codes found on non-winning 21 Black series scratch off tickets into the 21 Black Second Chance contest, and then… wait.  It’s really that easy. The contest officially opened yesterday, when the 21 Black series tickets went on sale, and 12 lucky Georgia Lottery players will score a brand new Kia, valued at about $19,000, over the next few months. The Lottery will also pay all the taxes and fees you could expect, bringing the total prize value to about $27,000. The final day to enter tickets into the 21 Black Kia contest will be October 14, so if you don’t win a new Soul this week, you’ve still got some time. Good...

Ga. Play it Again Features Outdoor Adventure

March 11, 2014 – After a long and snowy winter that caught Georgians by surprise, spring weather and a little time outside is likely to be on people’s minds as we draw nearer to the first official day of spring, March 20. Georgia Lottery players have a unique opportunity to get out and enjoy the outdoors through the Lottery’s popular Play it Again second chance program for $1 and $2 scratch-offs. The year-long promotion launched last July and each month has offered players a different featured prize they can win through special second-chance drawings. This month’s featured prize is an outdoor adventure of the winners’ very own design.  Four featured prize winners will be selected March 25 to receive round-trip airfare for two, anywhere in North America. Climb the Rocky Mountains, hit the slopes in Canada or take a relaxing Florida fishing trip – up to you.  The Lottery will not only pay to get the winners to their destination of choice, but they’ll also pay for seven nights in a hotel, provide an “adventures allowance,” and throw in $500 cash. But outdoor adventure isn’t for everybody.  Should featured prize winners not be interested in any adventures, they’ll still be able to choose any of the 12 featured prizes from the entire Play it Again promotion. And if a backyard makeover or tickets to any theme park in the country aren’t interesting either, there’s always a cash option for the Play it Again featured prizes.  This month’s prize is worth approximately $7,900 before taxes. Play it Again players should remember that the featured prizes aren’t the top prizes in this second chance promotion.  Each month the Lottery also awards one player with a $100,000 grand prize, and another 1,000 players can win as many as 40,000 points to spend in the Lottery’s Bonus Zone prize store. To enter $1 or $2 scratch-off tickets into the promotion, players must sign in or register with the Georgia Lottery’s Player’s Club. For a shot at this month’s $100,000 top...

All or Nothing Paying out for Georgia

March 4, 2014 – Georgia Lottery players have probably heard the hype over the Lottery’s newest game, All or Nothing, and the unique style of play that awards prizes to players who are lucky enough to match the winning numbers – or unlucky enough to miss them all. All or Nothing tickets went on sale Sunday before the game’s first two drawings, the evening and night-time drawings Sunday night.  Next Sunday, players will be able to play in all four regularly-scheduled drawings; the schedule was altered because ticket sales started Sunday morning. The game has proven instantly popular with players in Georgia though, who in just six drawings – the equivalent of only two days – have won more than $137,000. With two drawings left today, Monday was the only day since All or Nothing launched that all four drawings have been held.  Over the course of Monday’s four drawings, about 20,000 players won nearly $75,000 in prizes. Nobody has won the $250,000 top prize, which players win for matching all 12 winning numbers drawn or for matching none of the 12 winning numbers. Seven players have won All or Nothing’s $500 second prize though, averaging better than one second prize winner per drawing and accounting for $3,500 worth of all the prize money won so far this week. All or Nothing is a game that has been embraced by players in other states because of its unique style of play. Players choose 12 numbers between 1 and 24, making the odds of matching some numbers fairly good.  However, prizes are only awarded for matching several or few numbers, and top prizes are just for players who match All or Nothing. Besides the two $250,000 top prize opportunities, players can also win for matching 1, 2, 3 or 4 numbers, or for matching 8, 9, 10 or 11 numbers. That makes a total of ten prizes players can win on the new game, and the closer you are to the middle (matching 5, 6, or 7...
