California’s first week playing Powerball

The California lottery added Powerball last week, Apr 8, and since then has been setting the record for sales and participation in the game. With their first two drawings done, California can already celebrate a Powerball $1 million win.

In their first week playing Powerball, California residents exceeding expectations and broke Powerball records. In the first 3 days California could purchase Powerball tickets, players spent $8.5 million. These ticket sales broke the record, and Powerball couldn’t be happier. With the new state participating in the drawings, the Powerball jackpots are expected to grow even higher, making for more winnings and more excitement.

Although none of the California residents won the big jackpot during their first Powerball drawings, they are still hopeful. One lucky player did win $1.3 million by matching some of the selected numbers.

Powerball drawings are on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 11:00pm EST. To watch the drawings free from your smartphone, download the Shoutz app for Powerball drawings, giveaways and more!
