On April 8 2013, Powerball will be available in California. To kick off the festivities, TV personality, Mario Lopez is hosting an event to introduce Powerball to the California lottery!
The addition of the Powerball game to California is expected to bring an extra $40-50 million to state coffers annually. California officials are happy to add the successful Powerball game ot their state, and residents are excited for access to the high jackpots offered by Powerball. The California Lottery currently offers California’s SuperLotto and Mega Millions Lottery.
Mario Lopez will join California and Powerball lottery officials as well as state politicians at the Grove in Los Angeles, CA to kick off the addition of the $2 game to the California State Lottery offerings. Portions of the event will be open to the public, and the ceremony will begin at 12:30p.m. PST. A live event will also occur at San Francisco’s Embarcadero at the same time as the event in Los Angeles. Both events will have live streams to connect between the two locations. Attendees to the event in Los Angeles are encouraged to bring school supplies to be donated to a school in need.
Guests who attend the public parts of the event will be able to purchase lottery tickets, spin the lottery wheel, donate to those in their community, and enter for their chance to win Powerball prizes.
Once Powerball reaches California, California residents can join the fun and watch live Powerball drawings from their smartphones with Shoutz!
