Draw Games Go Head-to-Head in Bracket Bucks
March 13, 2014 – D.C. Lottery players can take March Madness off the court this year with the Lottery’s new Bracket Bucks promotion, which pits the Lottery’s draw games against one another – may the most popular game win.
The contest started Monday, and according to the Bracket Bucks second chance webpage, DC4, Keno, Mega Millions and DC5 are off to a strong start over their respective opponents in week one.
Here’s how the contest works: each game goes head-to-head with a different game, and whichever game has more ticket sales by the end of the week wins that round.
Then, players who entered tickets from the winning game will then get a chance to win cash prizes in weekly drawings. To enter, players must simply enter the webcode printed on their draw-game ticket.
Players who “vote” for a losing game each week aren’t out of the competition. Players can simply pick up a ticket for one of the games that advances to the next week and enter the webcode printed on the ticket for the Bracket Bucks promotion.
Any D.C. Lottery terminal game is eligible for the contest. The Lottery’s terminal games are Powerball, Mega Millions, DC3, DC4, DC5, Keno, Hot Lotto and Race 2 Riches.
The first week’s competition closes Sunday, March 16, and the first of the three weekly drawings will be held Monday, March 17. Four winners will be chosen in the first week’s drawing and each will receive a $1,000 prize.
The second entry deadline is Sunday, March 23, with a drawing on the 24th to decide two winners of $5,000 prizes. The third and final drawing will award a single, $10,000 prize on April 2. The entry deadline for the grand prize draw is March 31.
All webcodes must be entered by 10 p.m. on each entry deadline to be eligible.
Along with the Bracket Bucks contest, the D.C. Lottery has also released an interactive, online Bracket Bucks scratch-off game. Players can (digitally) scratch their way to cool prizes like D.C. Lottery headphones, a D.C. Lottery prize pack, or licensed merchandise from the Washington Wizards basketball team.
To get in on the Bracket Bucks contest or to play the Bracket Bucks interactive scratch-off, players need to register with the D.C. Lottery’s players club first. It’s free and simple to sign up, and members will have access to all of the D.C. Lottery’s promotions and second chance contests.
