Arkansas Lottery votes to adjust scholarship payouts
During the Arkansas session, legislators considered changing the lottery profit margin as well as adjusting the amounts awarded for scholarships through the Arkansas Lottery.
The idea had been brought in front of legislatures to require the lottery to have a 25% profit margin. This would cause the state to have to lower the amount paid in prizes. Good news for lottery players came when legislation decided against lowering payouts.
However, the Arkansas Legislators had to lower scholarship amounts. Freshman university students will now receive $2,000, and the amount will increase $1,000 for each year up to the senior year.
Recipients will be informed of the changes.
