Despite a recent budget crisis, many Arizona counties will receive funds from the lottery for the 2013-2014 fiscal year which will begin on July 1.
Out of 15 rural counties in Arizona, 13 of them will receive a one time revenue payment of roughly $550,000 for the coming fiscal year. This money is so the government can ensure these counties they will have funds to count on for the fiscal year.
The Arizona Lottery works to raise revenue to provide funds for business development, education, environmental support, and the public welfare. During the 2012-2013 fiscal year, the Arizona Lottery provided its state and counties with more than $2.8 billion for its above beneficiaries. The Arizona Lottery is proud to provide for their state and hopes to continue to do so for the coming years.
The Arizona counties who will receive the newly released funds are able to receive the money after budget discussions from the Arizona goverment. They hope that they will be able to come up with a more permanent solution for the next fiscal year. However, the state is happy to be able to help the little bit it can at this present time.
